65. Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Stand up paddle boarding has fast become the hottest new way to enjoy time on the water.  Whether you are searching for a way to expand your personal fitness regime or simply looking for a fun way to navigate the inland waterways of the Outer Banks, stand up paddle boarding (SUP) will suit your purpose. The glory of SUP on the OBX is the many prime locations available for the sport.  From Corolla to Ocracoke there are sounds, inlets, and waterways that are glassy and calm year round making them the perfect places to learn and enjoy the sport.

Stand up paddle boarding may seem simple… Get a board and a paddle, stand up and go.  However, it can be a little tricky so you might want to consider getting some lessons from one of the local, highly-trained instructors. Once you’ve found your rhythm and learned some basic skills, consider taking on one of the many SUP guided tours of the Outer Banks.  If you are feeling really confident why not try bird watching, fishing or even yoga while balancing on the board.  It’s all part of the fun on the Outer Banks!
