58. Peaceful Paddling… Kayaking

No matter when it was that you first saw someone kayaking, the thing that probably struck you was how serene it seemed.  Whether on the ocean, sound, or in the lagoons, kayaking on the Outer Banks is not only peaceful but it is also a fun way to explore hidden places.

Some visitors to the Outer Banks learn to enjoy kayaking while on vacation while other hone their skills paddling the diverse waters available here.  No matter what draws you to kayaking, you’ll be amazed at how peaceful it can be and how much you and your family will enjoy it.

Throughout the Outer Banks there are outfitters who can rent you equipment and trained instructors who can show you how to enjoy every moment of your time kayaking.  Wonderful tours are available from Carova to Ocracoke some of which will take you through the hidden corners of the Outer Banks and allow you to observe the birds and wildlife.  For something a little different, join a kayak tour that includes sampling some of the best local seafood around!

Everyone in your family will want to come back again and again because the landscapes and waterways of the OBX change to provide new adventures on the water each time you visit.
